IN-DEPTH INFORMATION ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Scope and Content: The Bossert Lee papers consist of 1940s certificates to Charles L. Bossert, and from Virginia Lee Bossert scrapbooks and 1920s photo books. The collection also includes a brief history of the family written by Virginia Schneider.

Biographical/Historical Note:
Virginia Schneider is the daughter of Virginia Lee Bossert, who is the daughter of Charles L. Bossert. Charles L. Bossert was a basketball player and later was on staff at the Atlantic City Hospital. In 1903 he became Chief Beach Surgeon with the Atlantic City Beach Patrol and from 1906 until 1941 he was Superintendent of the Beach Patrol. Also he was a Selective Service doctor from October 1940-1941.

Virginia Bossert and her husband, Bob Schneider, both graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1924. She was a reporter in high school and in her young adulthood. She wrote “Journal” articles in her scrapbook and Sunday Society articles.
