
It's Library Card Sign-up Month!
September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the Atlantic City Free Public Library joins the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide to remind everyone about the valuable resources available with a library card. Click here to learn how you can get an Atlantic City Free Public Library card.From borrowing books, ebooks, and audiobooks to getting homework help, learning new job, computer and language skills, or attending a book club or story time, a library card helps everyone do more of what they enjoy. All without stretching their budget.
There’s something for everyone at the Atlantic City Free Public Library, and signing up for a library card is the first step on the path to academic achievement and lifelong learning for students. It's elemental, really — everyone should have one!
Our library, along with libraries everywhere, continues to adapt and expand services to meet the evolving needs of our community.
Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, the ALA and libraries work together in a national effort to ensure every child signs up for their own library card.




The Atlantic City Free Public Library will offer a Financial Literacy Class Series this spring. A representative from OceanFirst Bank will lead the series. These classes are offered as part of of the Community Center Digital Connect Program (CCDC). 
The late William K. Cheatham left an indelible mark on the Atlantic City Free Public Library – and now his name has a permanent place at the library. The library’s facility at 1 North Tennessee Ave. has officially been named the William K. Cheatham Building. Library and city officials, family and friends remembered Cheatham at a special ceremony April 22 revealing a new sign that bears his name.
