Dr. King Read-in & Luncheon set for Jan. 18 at Noyes Arts Garage
The Atlantic City Free Public Library held its first Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Read-in back in 2014 — and it quickly became one of the library’s favorite traditions.
This year’s Read-in, which will be followed by a free luncheon for attendees, will be held Saturday, Jan. 18, from 2-4 p.m. at Noyes Arts Garage (2200 Fairmount Ave.). Also, the library will provide free parking for attendees at the Wave Garage. Registration is required for this program.
Staff and community members, along with local officials, will read some of Dr. King’s speeches and talk about his impact in celebration of his life and legacy.

The library received grant funding for this event from the New Jersey Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission. The Commission received applications from across the state proposing a wide range of interesting and creative activities to commemorate the 2025 Dr. Martin Luther King federal holiday. The library’s Dr. King Read-in & Luncheon was one of 22 programs selected for funding.
