Join our Self-Guided Walk Club
Published April 10, 2026
Start your journey to a healthier life by participating in the Atlantic City Free Public Library’s Self-Guided Walk Club. The club will run from April through September 2026.
Those interested can sign up at the Circulation Desk at the Main Library or Richmond Branch Library. Those who register will receive a free walking kit that includes a pedometer, water bottle, bag and a journal, while supplies last. (Download the flyer and share it with others: English flyer and Spanish flyer)
Participants are encouraged to wear their pedometer as they walk by themselves or with others. Each week you will need to bring your pedometer to the library so a staff member can log your steps.
Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the walk club. The more you walk, the greater your chance of winning a prize! Walking can help people maintain a healthy weight and lose body fat, prevent or manage health conditions, increase cardiovascular fitness, improve mood, reduce stress, strengthen muscles and bones, and more.
The New Jersey State Library, an affiliate of Thomas Edison State University, awarded the Atlantic City Free Public Library and other organizations in the state grant funding through its CCDC Program, a community resilience project that addresses disparities in access to education, employment, and health services by investing in capital improvements at community facilities.
This project is being supported, in whole or part, by federal award number CPFFNO185 awarded to the State of New Jersey by the U.S. Department of Treasury.
