New Richmond Branch Library now open to the public
The Atlantic City Free Public Library opened its new Richmond Branch Library – located at Ventnor and Windsor avenues – to the public on Wednesday, Feb. 27. Check out photos, plus a Press of Atlantic City story and TV 40's coverage from Richmond's opening day.
The branch, located in the new Richmond Avenue School, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The library provided a Richmond Branch at the original Richmond Avenue School from July 1923-July 2009. The school was demolished in 2009 after voters approved a referendum earlier that year to build new Richmond Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue schools.
The new Richmond Branch Library is 3,000 square feet – five times larger than the previous branch. The increased size will allow the library to offer programs, more computers and an expanded selection of resources.
“We are excited to make this location available to the public,” Library Director Maureen Sherr Frank said. “We think everyone’s going to love the new Richmond Branch.”
