Copy & Research Fees
Patrons researching Atlantic City history and topics related to Atlantic City are encouraged to visit the Atlantic City Free Public Library in person to conduct research using the resources in the Atlantic City Heritage Collections. Please make an appointment at least 24 hours in advance and receive confirmation before visiting. If you are unable to visit in person, limited research assistance is available. Please fill out the Archival Materials Order Form (PDF) and mail it with your payment.
Because of the nature of archival research, we do not accept rush orders, and questions are answered in the order in which they are received.
Please consult with the Librarian before copying any items from the Atlantic City Heritage Collections. Researchers wishing to scan materials themselves must also consult with the Librarian. Contact the Librarian for information about licensing and publishing items from the Collection.

Newspaper articles | Researchers may consult the full-text database Newsbank (1988-present) and the Online Local News Index (1984-present). The Library holds microfilm copies of The Press of Atlantic City (from 1895-present with some exceptions) and other newspapers. These resources are available whenever the Library is open. |
City Directories | Researchers may view microfilmed directories and select bound copies in the open shelves. These resources are available whenever the Library is open. |

Black and white photocopies | $0.10 per page (8.5" x 11" or 8.5" x 14) |
Black and white microfilm page copies | $0.25 per page (8.5" x 11" or 11" x 17") |

Fees for Research Assistance
If you are unable to visit in person, please note the following research and copying fees for your historical research questions. Atlantic City Residents and Atlantic City Business Owners, please contact us first. Payment is required in advance and is non-refundable.
Please download and complete the Archival Materials Order Form (PDF), and mail it with your payment. Heston Room staff will begin researching your request and will contact you with any questions or clarifications. Research requests require a minimum of 2 weeks. Requests are researched in the order in which they are received.
